Give follow-up some context.
Engagement is a starting point for learning. It is not proof that somebody is ready to buy. The useful question is what your team should understand before following up.
Look at the topic
A visit to a practical guide and a request for a demonstration suggest different questions. Look at the subject that attracted interest, and whether it relates to a problem your company can help solve.
Pass on useful context
When marketing hands a conversation to sales, include the topic, the action taken and what is still unknown. That gives your colleague a reason to start a relevant conversation rather than repeat a generic pitch.
Move at your own pace. You can come back to any lesson.
